If you are new to strength exercises do the action without any weights to start with. If you don’t have small hand weights you can use a can of soup, a water bottle or hold books.

Exercise

  • Stand up tall and bring your arms to the starting position as shown.
  • As you exhale, keep your elbows high and bring your elbows, forearms and hands together in front of your face.
  • As you inhale slowly return to the starting position.
  • Start with 5 repetitions. Take a break and do 2 more sets. Work your way up to 10 reps per set.
