childs pose 140.jpgChild’s pose, also known as ‘Balasana’, is a popular yoga pose that is an excellent way to relax and de-stress after or before a workout or stretching routine, before bed, or any other chaotic situation. It can be performed by kids and adults of all ages.

Exercise

  • Kneel on the floor. Your big toes should be touching each other, the knees should be hips-length apart
  • Exhale and lay your torso between your thighs
  • Lay your hands on the floor, alongside your torso, palms up, and release the fronts of your shoulders towards the floor
  • This is a resting pose, and thus can be held for however long you like, from 30 seconds to a few minutes. To come up, first lengthen the torso, and inhale while lifting from the tailbone
